RATES/HOURS/RULES

Rates/Hours/Rules

Here is everything that is in the handbook/contract for my daycare:)

DAYS AND HOURS:

Monday through Friday-open at 6:00am and close at 6:00pm.

Please notify me if you are not going to be here or if your child will be late.

I am closed on 6 state holidays. I will provide you a list and give a 1 week reminder when that holiday is drawing near.

Please give me a copy of what days and hours your child will be here (for the week) on the Friday before the new work week!

RATES:

I charge $2.00 an hour and will give you an invoice every other Monday for the previous 2 weeks. Payment must be made in FULL by that Friday.

If payment is not received by Friday a $5.00 charge will be added to your bill each day until payment is received. If Friday is a Holiday you must pay on Thursday.

Payments made with a returned check will require you to pay any fees I incur from my bank and a $30 fee from me. I will also require cash payments from then on.

Please remember to sign in and out EACH day your child is here. The book is by the front door on the end table. I need this so there is no dispute with your hours and the food program needs it to make sure the children I'm claiming match up with when they are actually here.

MEALS:

Your child will be enrolled in the Child Care Food Program. This is a federally funded program and insures that your child will be served nutritionally balanced meals. Meals will be posted daily and served at the following times.

Breakfast: 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Lunch: 11:30am-12:30 p.m

Snack: 3:00-3:30 pm

A child will be expected to eat what is served for each meal. If they dislike an item, they will be encouraged to taste it, but no alternatives will be served. Children who choose not to eat a meal or snack will not have a separate meal made special for them, but will need to wait until the next scheduled time.

If your child will not be here during those times please make sure they have had their meals.

Please do not let your child bring ANY food unless it is an extra snack on his or her birthday AND there is enough for all the children.

Please no gum or hard candy. BIG chocking hazard for small children.

NAP/QUIET TIME:

Obviously infants/toddlers will have their own nap time based on their individual needs. Older children are required to lie down after lunch and at least rest. This is usually between 12:30 and 1:00.

I provide blankets and pillows but your child is welcome to bring their own. Please write their name on anything they bring. I have "pack n' plays" for younger children to sleep in.

TOYS FROM HOME

Please do not let your child(ren) bring their toys from home. When a new toy comes into daycare and all the children want a turn with that toy, it is extremely hard to share with all the other children no matter how good a child is at sharing. If a child has a stuffed animal as a "lovey" or something like that, that is ok to bring.



DISCIPLINE:

I use positive discipline techniques such as making my expectations clear, reminders, and redirection before resorting to time-outs and taking privileges away. Physical and emotional punishments will not be used in my daycare. You will be informed if a problem persists or if I need cooperation from home so that we can be more consistent in what is expected. Routine problems will be handled without making a big deal of them.

PETS:

We have one very friendly cat that is always kept current with his shots. His nails are kept clipped and the litter box is in the garage and out of children’s reach.





FIRE AND STORM DRILLS:

A fire and escape plan has been drawn and is posted by the front door. Fire and storm drills are practiced monthly to teach the children how to deal with an emergency situation. I am trained in first aid and infant/child CPR. All important documents and certificates are posted behind the front door as well.



TRANSPORTING:

If the children are ever to be transported, I will request your written permission in advance unless it is an emergency. If they are to be transported, they will be in the appropriate care seat or seat belt, depending on their age. Sometimes we will schedule fun places to go like the park.

SICK CHILD:



Please notify me immediately if your child has been exposed to a contagious disease or diagnosed with a serious illness or medical condition so that I can alert the other parents.

I will NOT accept children who come with a fever, throwing up within the past 24 hours, or any other contagious symptoms such as lice, pinkeye, etc.

This is for the safety and health of all.

Children may come with chickenpox if all others parents have ok’d it.

If your child becomes sick during the day, you will be expected to pick them up in a timely manner.

Children will not be allowed to return to daycare until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours.

The proper forms have to signed BEFORE I can administer any type of medication to your child.

Please read over the “Sick policy” and the “Recommendations for Exclusions” forms!! You can always call me if you are unsure whether or not your child will be allowed into daycare!

VERIFICATION OF LEGAL CUSTODY:

In some circumstances legal custody may be decided by court order. In these situations I must have a copy of the court order recognizing the parent who has legal custody of the child, as well as visitation schedules. Otherwise I have no choice except to release the child to his/her parent.

TERMINATION:

A two week minimum must be given prior to daycare termination. Likewise, I will give you a two week notice if I must terminate care for your child.

I do not discriminate in admissions based on race, creed, color, religion, sex or national origin. I do, however, recognize that not every child will  fit comfortably into my child care family. For this reason, every new child begins on a two week trial basis. During this two week period, the parents OR the provider are allowed to terminate care on the basis of not being a “good match.” After the trial period, a two week notice is required for either party to terminate care.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide care for your family. It is my intention to provide the best care for your child and also act as a co-partner with parents so that children are stable and benefit from that consistency in all areas of their daily lives. I want them and you, the parent(s) to feel this is their home away from home. The children become a part of our family!

I have read and understand these policies.
